The Burlingame Pet Parade was started in 2004 by a group of volunteers to promote community spirit. It is entirely supported by volunteers and community donations.

2021 Pet Parade
Captain and Tony are brothers/littermates! Both boys are corgi racing champions and have been on ESPN three times! Both Captain and Tony recently raced in Corgi Con’s Mickey’s Derby this past weekend and Captain finished 1st and Tony finished 2nd! 😊 They’ve been finishing 1st and 2nd at Corgi Con’s races three years in a row! Captain came in second at the Corgi World Championships in Emerald Downs (Auburn, WA) this past July, which was aired on ESPN! Tony is the back to back 49ers K9ers Corgi Cup Race Champion. He got to race in the 49ers halftime show twice and his recent win was highlighted on Monday Night Football on Christmas Day. He has been on ESPN twice and was featured in Sports Center Top 10 Plays! Together, the boy's have 7 championship titles!
They rode in a Thunderbird convertible chauffeured by Don Hamblin of Bayshore Auto Body.
Learning Links Preschool located in Burlingame led and sponsored the parade. The Burlingame Pet Parade banner was carried by teachers and their students.
The San Mateo Elks Club Band provided tunes while parade goers arrived, during, and after the parade.
The Burlingame High School Band carried on their tradition of marching and showing off their musical talents.
Los Trancos Community Marching Band brought smiles to everyone as they marched down Broadway.
Surprise special guest, Alex The Great! Alex is a Flemish Giant Hare, a member of SFO's Wag Brigade, certified by the SPCA to provide comfort to travelers, and an die-hard Giants fan.
Winner of the Best Trick category was Fozzie with a variety of fun tricks, pictured here with his dad Bill and judge, Alan Canas.
Winner of the Best Dressed category was Jolene as Barbie, pictured here with mom, Roxanne, and judge, April Villacampa.
Winner of the Most Unusual Pet was Matisse, the bearded dragon, pictured here with Kailanie and judge, Hetal Shah.
Winners of the Best Float (non-school category) AND GRAND PRIZE WINNERS, the Matosova family with their wiener dog, Mila, and hot dog cart.
